A vibrant, yet young community, Carmel Valley has matured into a place where people can live, work and play. Young families are attracted by high-end housing and award winning schools. Area amenities and easy access to much of San Diego County make the commercial center of Carmel Valley ideal for corporate offices, hotels, shopping and restaurants.

Carmel Valley California

Near perfect weather year-round attracts a steady stream of repeat visitors and relocates who come to town to enjoy miles of coastline, two beautiful beaches, the famous Torrey Pines State Reserve and outstanding dining and shopping in a quaint Tudoresque village, dotted with historical cottages and the finest in innovative architectural design.

There are many neighborhood parks, a Community Recreation Center, athletic clubs, golf and the nearby beaches at Torrey Pines and Del Mar. An early experimenter in smart growth, Carmel Valley includes open space areas and an extensive trail system.

Carmel Valley real estate offers a wide variety of luxury homes, condominiums and apartments. New homes are always under construction and there's an almost insatiable demand for large executive homes with four-plus bedrooms and three-car garages. The garages are filled with expensive luxury foreign cars. In terms of investment, Carmel Valley real estate has appreciated as much as any neighborhood in San Diego County. Because it's so close to the major employment centers, some consider it to be the best location in San Diego.

Carmel Valley is one of the newer neighborhoods of the City of San Diego, California. It is a master planned community that was formed by the City of San Diego on February 1, 1975, but construction did not start until 1983.[1] The name Carmel Valley comes from the Carmelite Sisters of Mercy, who established a dairy farm and monastery in the area around 1905.[2] Although the area was known locally by the name Carmel Valley, in 1974 the area was given the institutional name "North City West" in the master plan. The name "Carmel Valley" was readopted in the early 1990s.
